As someone in the mental health field, and also someone who has battled mental illness myself, I can't tell you how many steps we take in the right direction every time someone shares their personal story with others. You are absolutely right when you say it is nothing to be ashamed of. But the less that we talk about it, the more people think that there is. It just goes to show that you can be an awesome mom and successful woman and not have it 100% together. In fact, if more people were as open as you, maybe you wouldn't feel so much pressure to have it 100% together. Because the truth is that no one does, and yet us overachievers still try and try. :-) Okay, end of public service announcement. lolJenniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14606757583897090864noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268723950449282729.post-18288847189816217402011-05-19T22:32:58.191-04:002011-05-19T22:32:58.191-04:00Congratulations and happy 'wation', too cu...Congratulations and happy 'wation', too cute!Georgyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08954972970770427438noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268723950449282729.post-9409299230501983542011-05-18T02:20:13.644-04:002011-05-18T02:20:13.644-04:00Congratulations! Haha.

I go to UConn, which is a public school, and I left with about $125k in debt, including the interest that accrued on my unsubsidized loans while I was in school (and while I took that year off). I did have help with living expenses from Tyler while I was married so my debt is somewhat lower than my classmates'. At my exit counseling for my loans, they told me that dental graduates from my school pay off their debt after an average of seven to ten years.

If you go to a private school your debt will be upwards of $250k.

Good luck! :) It's a great career!Juliahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12563043679268031843noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8268723950449282729.post-53327777856958198112011-05-14T21:39:39.862-04:002011-05-14T21:39:39.862-04:00Congrats! I too thought I knew everything growing up, especially through my teenage years. I've scoffed at her suggestions, flat out ignored her, yelled at her, etc. Yet, she has loved me nonetheless and I have learned my lessons with each mistake she warned me about.
I just shared with her that I should have listened to her more growing up, but she never even said "I told you so" to gloat in my realization. I can only hope to be half the mom, and have half the patience she did in raising me.
